Own the journey: What to expect

Our structured 18-month program has three six-month rotations across key areas of the supply chain. This is what it looks like.

  • You’ll start in your home country, building a strong foundation in systems, processes, and operations.
  • You’ll then complete two international rotations, gaining hands-on experience in different countries and working on real operational and strategic challenges.
  • Next, you’ll collaborate with diverse teams, share best practices, and develop a deep understanding of our global, end-to-end supply chain.
  • At the end of the program, you’ll return to your home country, equipped with practical experience, global insights, and the skills to strengthen local supply chain performance.

What are we looking for in our young professionals?
You’ll need to have completed a master’s degree and have a genuine interest in end-to-end supply chain.

Professional experience and passion.
Own your responsibilities. Care about results. And put your analytical and problem-solving skills to use in our dynamic, international environment.

Proactive learners
Enjoy mastering complex concepts and applying learnings in practical ways to make an impact.

Creative problem solvers
Ability to approach challenges creatively, thinking outside the box to find the best solutions.

Global mobility and adaptability
Must be fully internationally mobile willing to relocate for two 6-month international rotations. Must hold a home country passport; visa sponsorship is not available.

Professional experience and passion
Maximum of two years of experience in supply chain, business administration or manufacturing environments.

Language
Good proficiency of business English and local language

Working at Nutreco

We hire across research & innovation, manufacturing & quality, supply chain (procurement, planning, logistics, engineering), commercial (sales & marketing), digital/automation, finance, HR and HSE spanning both livestock nutrition (Trouw Nutrition) and aquafeed (Skretting). You’ll find roles from plant and lab operations to data, sustainability and customer-facing teams all aligned to our purpose of “Feeding the Future.”

Nutreco’s Global HR policy enables foreign local hires, international transfers, short‑ and long‑term assignments, commuters, remote workers and business travelers, supported by our Global Mobility team. 

We offer global learning initiatives (Development Month, Leadership programs) and technical academies, plus local upskilling like Power BI, pelleting and digital nutrition trainings. Teams are encouraged to maintain Individual Development Plans and join communities such as Young Nutreco for mentoring and growth.

Some positions follow a hybrid approach (for example, up to two work‑from‑home days where the role allows) under our flexible working guidelines; manufacturing and lab roles follow on‑site schedules. 

Time‑off policies follow local legislation and company guidelines, typically covering vacation, sick leave and public holidays, with parental leave provided per country programs and company policy.

Probation periods are defined in your employment contract and follow local law; durations therefore vary by country and role.

Nutreco runs internships across functions and a global Supply Chain Traineeship Program with international rotations.
