Job Description

We are seeking a Production Operator for our Hi-Pro Feeds brand in Comanche, TX. This manufacturing position will cover responsibilities in the areas of Mixing, Trace Area, Bagging, and Inventory Counts. The candidate will perform manual operational activities and operate machinery and tools. They will communicate daily with colleagues and supervisors. The Operator will work in compliance with all relevant safety regulations and procedures, as well as technical standards.

Hi-Pro Feeds, LLC, a Nutreco brand that has maintained a spirit of excellence since 1968 by anticipating and meeting the needs of our livestock customers. Our team works with Livestock Producers (beef & dairy), the Dealer Market, and Nutritionists. Hi-Pro provides a full line of feeds for all species in our market area which includes Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Oklahoma and Colorado. Quality is the first ingredient at Hi-Pro Feeds!

Responsibilities:

  • Operational tasks: Executes operational activities / processes such as discharge, load, transport, clean, label, operate all equipment, in order to contribute to a safe, effective and efficient production processes.
  • Ensuring feed quality: This involves monitoring the production process, conducting quality checks, and ensuring ingredients are used according to established formulas and specifications. 
  • Maintenance & repair tasks: Periodically inspects and executes small maintenance tasks on the production equipment, signaling defects and deficiencies.  If applicable and appropriate, conducts minor repair work
  • Reporting: Logs data and information on production orders and activities in the appropriate logbooks / systems in order to have a complete administration and insight in the state and progress of production orders
  • Loading/Unloading: Operators may be involved in assembling and preparing goods for shipment, loading feed onto trucks, unloading ingredients, and verifying that the correct items are loaded and delivered. 
  • Continuous improvement:  Signals deviations in current processes, techniques and/or systems and flags opportunities for improvement with supervisor, in order to continuously optimize and improve operational (work) processes, tools and systems.
  • Safety & Compliance:  Works in compliance with all relevant (personal as well as food) safety, environmental and quality regulations and procedures, as well as operational standards.  He or she will promote awareness on SHEQ, signals potential hazardous and / or unsafe situations, takes appropriate action is case of imminent unsafe situations
  • Good housekeeping:  Ensures the work area is left clean and in a safe working condition and that there are no hazardous situations. Maintains the appearance of the production line(s), working area(s) and production site

Qualifications:

  • Warehouse or mill experience preferred, but not required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physically capable of performing heavy lifting and/or working at heights
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Capable of multi-tasking
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Available to work extended hours as needed
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Must pass a drug screen
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

This is a full-time position, located at our West plant location in Comanche, TX. 508 Moorman Road
