Why join us

Get ready to own your path as a Junior Quality Controller at Trouw Nutrition GB, a Nutreco company, supporting our manufacturing operations in Ashbourne. As global leaders in animal nutrition, our shared purpose of Feeding the Future drives innovation, collaboration, and meaningful impact.

In this role, you will support the Quality team in ensuring that raw materials, production processes, and finished products consistently meet our quality standards. You'll play an important role in maintaining product quality, supporting audits, investigating quality issues, and helping ensure compliance across the site.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in Quality within a manufacturing environment. Whether you already have some quality experience or are looking to build your expertise in a hands-on operational setting, training and support will be provided.

What you'll do

Support quality control activities to ensure compliance, product quality, and operational excellence:

  • Carry out routine quality inspections and checks on raw materials and finished products

  • Collect and manage product samples for testing and evaluation

  • Support investigations into quality complaints and non-conformances

  • Maintain accurate quality records and documentation

  • Assist with internal audits and quality assurance activities

  • Work closely with Production, Operations, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality-related issues

  • Promote quality standards and best practices across the site

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality function

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and relevant regulations

  • Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment

Who we're looking for

  • Previous experience within Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Food Production, Feed Production, FMCG, or a similar environment is desirable

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is an advantage

  • Exposure to quality standards such as UFAS, ISO, HACCP, or GMP+ is beneficial but not essential

  • Basic IT and Excel skills are required

  • Key Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage effectively with stakeholders across the business, strong organisational and prioritisation abilities, a proactive and self-motivated approach, eagerness to learn and develop, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, strong teamwork and collaboration skills, and the flexibility to adapt to changing business needs

Location & Details

  • Location: Ashbourne, UK

  • Work model: On-site

  • Contract: Permanent, full-time

Working Pattern

This role operates on a rotating shift pattern across three schedules, so flexibility around working hours is important, including occasional holiday cover requirements. Very occasional Saturday morning work may be available on a voluntary basis and, where worked, is paid at overtime rates.

What you'll receive

  • 25 days of holiday per calendar year based on full-time working hours, plus 8 UK bank holidays

  • Training and development opportunities within Quality and Manufacturing

  • Exposure to a broad range of quality processes, systems, and continuous improvement activities

  • Opportunity to develop your career within a global organisation
