What you’ll do 

Sustainability information on the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) pillars is becoming more and more important for Nutreco in achieving our goal of Feeding the Future in a sustainable manner. With our global presence in the animal nutrition and aquafeed industry there are numerous opportunities to accelerate our sustainability strategy and in the role of Corporate ESG Controller you will be contributing to that strategy directly.

As a Corporate ESG Controller, you are part of the Corporate Finance team of Nutreco and report directly to the Corporate Finance Control Manager. You will be responsible for enhancing the financial reporting processes and controls surrounding ESG information on a corporate level and for coordinating the reporting from different functional departments (e.g. Procurement, Health & Safety, Operations, etc.) into a CSRD-based sustainability statement.

You will contribute to achieve a more mature and professional ESG financial reporting organization.

This role is responsible for designing and implementing robust ESG financial reporting processes and controls to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of reported information. You will coordinate the collection and consolidation of ESG data from operating companies and business units to the corporate level, working closely with ESG content experts, and validate the quality and completeness of all reported information. The role includes preparing internal and external ESG management reports, including reporting to our shareholder SHV, coordinating the drafting of the sustainability statement in line with CSRD requirements, and ensuring ongoing compliance with EU Taxonomy reporting obligations. You will also prepare and support the assurance process over CSRD reporting, train teams across the organization on ESG awareness and reporting requirements, and continuously interpret new sustainability reporting standards, translating them into effective and scalable processes.

In this role you will be part of the corporate finance control team and will work alongside various stakeholders such as the CSRD Program Manager, ESG content experts and the corporate accounting and reporting team.

Who we’re looking for 

We’re looking for someone who is responsible, accountable and ready to Own this role. Someone who is confident, credible, influential and able to lead from the front. Substantial experience gained in Strategy, PMO, or Business Development roles within the animal nutrition industry or adjacent sectors is also preferred.  

You’ll also need:  

• Completed Master’s degree in a relevant field (sustainability, accounting, control or finance);

• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience;

• Knowledge of and experience with ESG-information reporting requirements and standards (CSRD, ESRS, etc.);

• Skills to work with both people and numbers;

• Fluent communication skills in English, both in speaking and writing;

• Experience with audit and/or assurance processes;

• Proven track record in project management.
